An exciting opportunity has arisen for an
Economic Research Analyst
to join the Competition practice of an elite international law firm in London.

About the Team:
Join a dynamic and rapidly growing Competition team that's experiencing significant expansion across Europe. You'll work alongside a highly respected senior analyst and collaborate directly with partners on high-profile merger control, FDI, and international trade matters.

The Opportunity:
This role offers genuine variety and the chance to make an immediate impact. You'll be at the heart of strategic client work, conducting market analysis on M&A, tracking regulatory developments, and presenting insights that directly influence major transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support merger arbitrage research and time-sensitive client mandates
  • Conduct market sizing, competitive analysis, and share estimates
  • Monitor merger control/FDI reviews (EC, CMA, and international authorities)
  • Prepare clear, client-ready reports and presentations
  • Contribute to business development and pitch preparation
  • Build internal know-how resources on regulatory trends

What We're Looking For:

  • 2-5 years' experience (economics, legal, finance, consultancy, or related fields)
  • Strong research skills and lateral thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to translate complex data into client-friendly insights
  • Team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Competition law knowledge is beneficial but not essential - full training provided
