**Economic Research Assistant - JP Morgan - London - 6months contract - Hybrid - PAYE**
We are seeking an Economic Research Assistant to join JP Morgan's EMEA EM Fixed Income Research Team in London on an initial 6 months contract. The role would suit a person looking for exposure to global macro and market developments, regional EMEA EM economies as well as frontier economies globally. Good understanding and professional experience working with macroeconomic data and very strong Excel skills are needed; programming ability is a plus.

The CIB's Research team provides award-winning, market-leading insight, delivered through a broad spectrum of research products and innovative platforms. Our leading Research Analysts strive to deliver through timely, insightful, analytical research with actionable ideas. The EMEA EM Fixed Income Research team is formed of eight economists, most in London.
**The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- Maintaining and creating spreadsheets and analytical tools.
- Work closely with the entire EMEA EM team; liaise with economists and strategists to formulate views and assist with publications.
- Compiling and maintaining chartbooks and templates for weekly/monthly/ad hoc publications, particularly the weekly EM Edge data watch which covers frontier economies globally.
- Occasionally assisting internal sales and trading personnel.
**Requirements**:
- Good economics knowledge (1-2 years of experience).
- Assisting EMEA EM economists on various publications.
- Ability to work meticulously and independently with large spreadsheets and databases, internal and external.
- Good knowledge of political, economic and business developments.
- Inherent interest/curiosity about macro and markets.
- Knowledge of statistical programming languages/packages (Eviews, Python) is a plus.
- A Masters, preferably in Economics/Finance, is a plus.
**Please note that this role will be working in the office full time.**

**Salary**: £250.00-£350.00 per day
