Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring the smooth operation of the coffee shop. Prior experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided to the right candidate. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, snacks, or other light food items as required.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering queries, and ensuring customers have a positive experience.
  • Operate cash registers accurately, handle transactions efficiently, and manage cash or card payments.
  • Keep the work area clean and organised, including cleaning equipment and utensils regularly.
  • Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Follow health and safety procedures diligently to create a safe environment for staff and customers.

Skills

  • Previous barista experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards to ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Experience in serving customers with professionalism and friendliness.
  • Ability to assist with food preparation tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
  • Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members.
