Job Purpose:

A key role within the hygiene team, ensuring that required hygiene standards are consistently met. In particular, food safety, quality, legality, consumer protection and adherence to legislation / customer codes of practice. Following a daily hygiene schedule and ensuring cleaning materials are used in accordance with procedures.

Helping to deliver great hygiene standards by consistent and diligent delivery of the hygiene plan. Ensuring that all cleaning activities are of a high standard and completed following site health & safety procedures. Building positive and productive working relationships with other departments, delivering excellent service and seeking ways to continuously improve.

Key Responsibilities

  1. To maintain an effective factory hygiene service to the business.

  2. Efficiently follow the daily hygiene schedule.

  3. To ensure cleaning materials are appropriately used and stored in accordance with legislative and COSHH requirements.

  4. To use cleaning equipment and cleaning material in accordance to internal and external guidelines.

  5. Report any malfunctions or misuse of cleaning equipment to the supervisor.

  6. Accurate completion of hygiene records.

  7. Comply to food handling procedures.

  8. Ensure waste materials are correctly disposed of following site waste procedures

  9. To have a working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals.

  10. To be able to diligently follow set hygiene schedules and follow task specific cleaning instruction cards, in a timely manner.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Good communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
  • Approachable, flexible and methodical
  • Keen attention to detail, ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work to a schedule and as part of a team
  • Also capable of working alone, if required

Desirable:

  • Hygiene and/or industrial cleaning experience
  • Experience within a food manufacturing environment or similar
  • Good understanding of COSHH / Chemical awareness
  • Knowledge of HACCP, CIP systems, pest management

Job Type: Full-time
