Objective: To liaise with the GM on day-to-day operations. To manage the team and department efficiently and work with the club team. The ensure the facility is checked top to bottom every morning and manage repairs promptly. To organise and prioritise daily tasks including IT, AV, Tech issues across the business. This role is operational / admin heavy (50/50) as such flexibility and a hands on approach is a vital requirements. TO be a key communicator in the business, ensure the wider team is fully informed and aware of works that take place on site.

Maintenance & Health & Safety Manager – Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate filing of drawings, logs, and compliance records
  • Keep all Risk Proof and Health & Safety / Food Safety / Fire Safety documentation fully up to date
  • Manage planned and reactive maintenance: PPMs, shower head descaling, temperature checks, filters, refrigeration, and BMS systems
  • Conduct regular site inspections, identify maintenance needs, and oversee repairs
  • Liaise with and manage contractors and service providers ensuring high-quality work
  • Support and coordinate with all departments on technical and maintenance needs
  • Maintain and update maintenance budgets, CAPEX forecasts, and key contact lists
  • Ensure all Fire Safety procedures and training are followed and drills completed
  • Lead quarterly Health & Safety meetings; review and update policies, risk assessments, and training
  • Liaise with local authorities and agencies (EHO, Fire, Legionella, etc.)
  • Manage technical operations for AV, gaming, and event equipment
  • Maintain proactive communication across teams and WhatsApp groups regarding works and schedules
  • Be available for emergency call-outs when required
  • Act as an ambassador for the club, engaging positively with members and families
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs on mechanical systems, electrical systems, and programmable logic controllers.
  • Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Lead and supervise maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report on the status of equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all maintenance activities.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a maintenance role, with strong mechanical knowledge and electrical experience.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred, demonstrating the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Familiarity with project management principles is an advantage.
