Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining patients' oral health by providing high-quality hygiene services. The role involves patient education, preventative care, and assisting the dentist with various procedures, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for all patients.

Duties

  • Perform professional dental hygiene procedures including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar build-up
  • Conduct oral health assessments and record findings accurately in patient records
  • Provide personalised oral hygiene instructions and advice to patients to promote preventative care
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures as needed
  • Utilise CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools for designing dental appliances when required
  • Operate medical imaging equipment to capture necessary diagnostic images with precision
  • Maintain sterilisation protocols and ensure all dental instruments are properly disinfected and prepared for use
  • Educate patients on oral health maintenance, including proper brushing, flossing techniques, and dietary advice
  • Keep detailed documentation of patient treatments, observations, and progress in compliance with practice policies

Requirements

  • recognised qualification as a Dental Hygienist recognised by relevant regulatory bodies
  • Proven experience in a similar clinical setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for specific practice protocols
  • Knowledge of CAD software applications relevant to dental appliance design is advantageous
  • Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry and interpretation of images
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy, particularly oral and maxillofacial regions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively
  • Organised, detail-oriented, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety standards within the practice

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From £30.00 per hour
