Finance Director | Private Equity | Exit | Start ASAP

We have an urgent requirement for a Finance Director to prepare a rapidly expanding client for a Private Equity (PE) exit/transaction.

Our client is a Founder led infrastructure provider working with clients (under long term contracts) across the UK & Europe.

You will be required to bring the necessary expertise to ensure that the transition into PE ownership is as efficient as possible – 'you must have done this before'.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support and drive the Founder and SLT in the sale of the business into Private Equity ownership.
  • Ensure the company's financial and operational data is 'fit for purpose' for a Private Equity sale process.
  • Provide detailed financial insight and analysis for commercial decision-making, long-term planning and driving the overall sale process.
  • Prepare robust financial models, due diligence materials, and investor presentations.
  • Ensure all financial systems, controls, and reporting processes meet Private Equity standards.
  • Work with external advisors (corporate finance, legal, tax) to manage the transaction process.

Experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Proven track record as a hands-on Finance Director. Your experience must cover both Founder led and PE backed businesses. Some of that experience must have been gained in a relevant / related industry sector i.e. infrastructure, construction, engineering etc.
  • Preparation of business for Private Equity investment/sale, this will include managing due diligence, liaising with advisors etc.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, M&A, valuation drivers etc.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Immediate, or available at short notice.

I anticipate that this will be an interim to permanent appointment, with potentially an opportunity for equity participation in the future.
