The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Mechanical Technician to join our Manufacturing Department. You will be responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, and fault-finding a wide range of mechanical and electro-mechanical products to the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
· Build, assemble, and fit mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings, specifications, and build manuals.
· Conduct mechanical testing, pressure testing, and functional checks to verify assembly integrity.
· Competent in the use of precision measuring tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers) to inspect components.
· Perform fault-finding and undertake repairs on mechanical assemblies and associated equipment.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
· Work collaboratively with engineers and technicians to meet production schedules.
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing department.
Essential Requirements
· Previous experience in mechanical assembly, fitting, machining, or a similar production environment.
· Applications from recent engineering graduates are also welcomed.
· Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings and technical documentation.
· Good communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
· Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.
· Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office proficiency and ability to learn new software.
· Diligent, self-motivated, and well-organised with strong record-keeping skills.
Desired Requirements and Experience
· Basic knowledge of electronic principles and wiring (advantageous).
· Experience in machining.
· Ability to identify and repair faults.
· Work in a focused manner and stay on task.
· Work to Robertson Geo quality systems and Health & Safety policy.
· Assist in the development of new production methods to improve current product lines or support new products.
· Proactively follow health & safety procedures as set out by the company.
