We're a fast-growing, forward-thinking business — and we're now looking for a motivated
Procurement & Supply Chain Assistant
to join our team in Thornaby-on-Tees.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for supporting both
procurement
and
supply chain operations
.

You'll help manage supplier relationships, purchase orders, and inventory levels, ensuring the smooth flow of goods from order through to delivery.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Managing purchase orders, supplier communication, and product availability.
  • Monitoring stock levels and coordinating replenishment to prevent shortages or overstock.
  • Assisting with logistics coordination, including delivery schedules and inbound shipments.
  • Analysing purchasing and supply data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Maintaining accurate records of suppliers, orders, and pricing.
  • Working closely with warehouse, sales, and finance teams to align purchasing and stock management with business needs.
  • Supporting supplier performance reviews and helping onboard new suppliers where necessary.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in
    procurement
    ,
    purchasing
    , or
    supply chain operations
    .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Highly organised with keen attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across departments.
  • Proficient in Excel and basic data analysis.
  • Previous experience in the
    food or FMCG industry
    is an advantage.
  • Qualifications in
    Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Business
    are beneficial.
