The Role: Senior Children's Care Worker
As the Senior Children's Care Worker, you'll provide professional leadership to care staff, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of services. You'll act as a key point of guidance and support, overseeing shift operations and maintaining high standards in line with Ofsted, Children's Homes Regulations, and individual care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate your care team, acting as a positive role model
- Ensure the smooth running of shifts and adherence to individual care plans
- Provide hands-on support to children with complex needs
- Supervise, develop, and mentor Support Workers and Seniors
- Promote a child-centred approach that supports personal growth, independence, and safeguarding
- Deliver consistent care aligned with each young person's placement and and therapeutic goals
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care – Children & Young People
- Strong understanding of EBD, safeguarding, Ofsted regulations & Quality Standards
- Demonstrated experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties
- A passion for creating positive outcomes for young people
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
- Experience in a supervisory or team-leading role within a children's residential setting
- Existing relationships or knowledge of local authority processes across the West Midlands
