Job Purpose:

To control the exchange and positioning of relevant Transport vehicles and their loading and dispatch, in line with Company Procedures in a safe manner

Main Responsibilities:

The job holder will be required to be responsible for and undertake the following tasks:

· Coordinate the Movement of Containers and Trailers: Efficiently manage the positioning of containers and trailers on and off loading bays, ensuring that all movements align with the established unloading and loading schedules. This includes monitoring the flow of goods to ensure timely and organized operations, minimizing delays and maximizing efficiency.

· Supervise and Oversee Transport Contractors: Take responsibility for supervising transport-related contractors while they are on the company premises. This includes managing their entry and exit processes, whether they are pedestrians or drivers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company procedures at all times. Maintain vigilant oversight to ensure that all transport activities meet the required standards.

· Conduct Regular Checks on Tug Units and Trailers: Perform daily inspections on all tug units and on-site trailers to ensure they are in optimal working condition. This involves identifying any maintenance issues or discrepancies and ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly for safe and efficient operations.

· Foster Collaborative Relationships with Internal Departments: Build and sustain positive and productive working relationships with all relevant departments, ensuring seamless communication and coordination across various teams. Encourage cooperation to facilitate smooth operations and problem-solving, ultimately contributing to the overall success of logistics processes.

· Identify, Address, and Report Issues Affecting Compliance: Proactively identify any issues that may hinder adherence to the Daily Load Schedule and take swift action to resolve them. Timely reporting of these issues is essential to maintaining compliance and ensuring that operations run according to plan, minimizing disruptions and delays.

Job Context/Environment

· Job will be 4 on 4 off.

· 6am till 6pm

Key Performance Indicators:-

• Ability to adhere to reasonable schedules set by Transport Management.
• Internal departmental assessment reports on performance

Skills/ Experience:-

Full Driving Licence

Self-motivated, pro-active,

Forward thinking and acts to address future needs and opportunities

Excellent communication skills

Resilient under pressure

Sound basic mechanical knowledge

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 33 – 44 per week
