We are now seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our growing team and strengthen the commercial performance and consistency of our operations.

Role Overview

The Commercial Manager will play a key leadership role across the business—ensuring accurate pricing, robust financial controls, strong supplier relationships, and effective commercial governance of all projects.

Working closely with the Bid Team, Operations, and Finance, you will ensure commercial alignment across the organisation and support decision-making that maximises profitability and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Track commercial performance and ensure success measurements are monitored and reported.
• Prepare, price, and complete quotations for follow-on works.
• Work closely with the Bid Team to develop competitive and accurate quotes for new opportunities.
• Apply extensive knowledge of the NHF Schedule of Rates when preparing estimates and pricing submissions.
• Lead on invoicing across the business to ensure accuracy, consistency, and profit maximisation.
• Support contract reviews through working knowledge of contract terms and conditions.
• Collaborate with the Operations Team to maintain a unified commercial understanding across all contracts.
• Attend client meetings to support positive relationships and commercial transparency.
• Work with the Finance Team to resolve invoicing, cost, or margin queries.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of social housing and public sector commercial frameworks.
• Provide confident commercial decision-making to support day-to-day operations.
• Engage with suppliers to secure preferential pricing and negotiate best-value outcomes.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in commercial management within social housing, maintenance, or public-sector contracting.
• Strong knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates and sector pricing models.
• Commercially confident with strong decision-making ability.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• No formal QS qualification required, but strong commercial acumen is essential.
• Ability to attend site and client meetings when required.
• Strong negotiation skills with experience dealing with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ability to maintain accuracy, consistency, and financial discipline across multiple contracts.
