Primary Purpose Of The Job
Reporting to the General Manager, this role includes building a team of highly skilled individuals across functions such as regional management, fleet sales, training, and sales support.
The role is responsible for developing the sales strategy and ensuring alignment with the businesses long-term goals and objectives. It also carries overall responsibility for strategic planning for new market entry, sales planning and forecasting, and target creation - ensuring the effectiveness of distribution channels.
Main Responsibilities
Sales Strategy Development and Implementation
- Develop and implement the business' sales strategy, ensuring alignment with the long-term goals.
- Develop and execute thorough sales plans, in line with the business' objectives, whilst also being responsible for the sales training system.
- Management of retail finance programs, including definition of strategy and selection of third-party finance providers as required by strategy.
Commercial Projects and Operations
- Ensure delivery of commercial projects to agreed timelines, budget, and scope.
- Forward sales planning and forecasting, to support requirements of SCM and production.
- Management of sales operations budget.
- Create KPIs/targets by which to measure the effectiveness of distribution channels, coordinating market intelligence, and building composite data for each of those channels.
Network Development and New Market Entry
- Network Development Management; overseeing the strategy and appointment and selection process of all retail partners, the development of Retail Standards, Operations Manual, Trading Terms, and Contractual Agreements.
- Leadership of Network Operations & Program Management; leading the development of Retail Sales/Product and CX training, development and coordination of network onboarding process, Retail Environment Programme, and project management.
- Strategic planning, approval, and implementation process for new market entry; design approval and implementation process.
Customer Experience Management
- Customer Experience management - including but not limited to the delivery of the Customer Lifetime Communication Plan, CRM & SAP integration, and Customer Services (including Customer Complaint Management, Data Compliance, and Technical Support Team).
- Develop a customer satisfaction program/customer feedback loop to build advocacy for the brand.
Team Building and Management
- Build a new team covering business scope of regional management, fleet sales, training, and sales support.
- Overall accountability of the dealer management system
PRINCIPLE CONTACTS/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Direct Report: Head of Regional Sales, Head of Fleet Sales, Sales Training Manager, Sales Ops Specialist.
Education, Training And Experience
- Qualification (master's degree or higher)
- 15+ years' experience in automotive sales and marketing, with particular focus on sales planning, forecasting, sales process development and vehicle logistics
- Experience of wider commercial functions (marketing, after sales, branding, communications, distribution) a key advantage
Extensive experience of network development, sales and market operations, customer experience, logistics, network operations, preferably within the automotive industry, with a creative enthusiasm for finding new ways to bring vehicles to market.
