are pleased to be partnering with global charity in the search for a head of assurance on a short term month) contract basis, paying up £500 a day inside IR35, based in London 1 day a week with 20-25% international travel to some exciting locations across the globe.

The client is a pioneering global network of NGOs dedicated to transforming the humanitarian system. Their mission is to challenge the status quo by decentralizing power and resources, enabling locally-led action, and ensuring aid is more effective and accountable to communities in crisis. They are moving away from centralized models and building a global ecosystem of civil society hubs, putting local expertise at the forefront of humanitarian response.

The Opportunity:

I am seeking a forward-thinking Head of Assurance to join their leadership team. In this role, you will not simply be enforcing rules; you will be the architect of an enabling assurance framework for a decentralized, global network. Your challenge will be to build a system that satisfies the highest standards of accountability for public funds while empowering local partners and fostering innovation. This is a role for a builder and a strategist who can re-imagine what assurance looks like in a complex, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Providing strategic leadership to the assurance function, inspiring a high-performing team.
  • Developing robust, mission-aligned risk management and compliance frameworks.
  • Collaborating directly with international members and locally-led hubs to co-design risk and compliance structures that are fit-for-purpose and culturally informed.
  • Overseeing due diligence processes and building confidence with donors and key stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate:

You are a proven compliance and assurance professional, with a track record of success at a senior level, either from the non-profit sector or a comparable complex industry. More importantly, you are a natural collaborator and systems thinker. You have demonstrable experience in co-designing frameworks
with
partners, not just for them. You thrive on navigating complexity and are motivated by the opportunity to use your skills to create profound social impact.
