Position

We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to support our data and reporting function on a part-time contract basis. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the business to develop, maintain, and enhance data reporting solutions using SQL Server, SSRS, and Power BI.

This role is ideal for a self-starter who can manage their workload independently and deliver high-quality insights and reports that drive informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions and dashboards using Power BI and SSRS.
  • Write, optimise, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views.
  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into actionable reports and visualisations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting and analytical requests from stakeholders.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, query optimisation).
  • Hands-on experience developing reports in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
  • Advanced skills in Power BI - including DAX, data modelling, and report publishing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in gathering requirements and working directly with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational database design.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with ETL processes or tools (e.g. SSIS).
  • Background in retail, operations, or financial reporting environments.
