Are you passionate about turning data into strategic insight? This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a Market Intelligence Manager to join Hitachi's Global Marketing & Sales (GM&S) team, a high-profile corporate initiative at the very center of the Hitachi Group.
As a Market Intelligence Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our global strategy. You'll dive deep into market trends, competitor landscapes, customer needs to uncover opportunities that drive real business impact, and bring the voice of the marketplace into Hitachi to enable an agile, customer-centric growth organization.
About GM&S
Hitachi is transforming to ensure sustainable growth and profitability in digital and green sectors by establishing a customer-centric business model. Part of this transformation is setting up global account management to better understand customer needs and increase Hitachi's market share.
This transformation is led by GM&S, whose vision is to become our customers' preferred partner of choice for their most critical challenges by providing impactful, sustainable solutions, delivered by experts spanning the full breadth of Hitachi's portfolio.
What you'll do
- Take ownership of specific areas of market intelligence, whether it's sector insights or account profiling, you'll lead the charge.
- Conduct market sizing and trend analysis across key sectors; for example Mobility and Data Centers.
- Build detailed profiles of global and regional accounts, identifying their strategies, challenges, and where Hitachi can win.
- Analyze competitors' performance, strategies, and product pipelines to inform our positioning.
- Support global strategic initiatives such as go-to-market planning, M&A scoping, and economic/trade analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams from other Hitachi business units to embed insights into business strategies and foster customer-first thinking.
- Present your findings in compelling ways through presentations, workshops, and working sessions with senior stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with external research vendors, ensuring high standards and ethical research practices.
- Contribute to the evolution of our AI-powered insights tool.
What you'll bring
- At least 10 years of professional experience, including 5+ years in market research.
- A proven ability to thrive in complex, fast-changing environments.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills - you're comfortable working with unstructured data and extracting meaningful insights.
- A strategic mindset with a talent for identifying the "so what" behind the data.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Japanese is a plus).
- Experience in a strategy consultancy or market research agency is a bonus, but not essential.
