PureCare is seeking to recruit a Mental Health Senior Support Worker for Rock House, a 15-bedded residential home in Gillingham, within easy walking distance of the town centre and with good access to local transport links. Shift hours are from 8.00am to 9.30pm. Pay is £13.21 per hour.

We would also want you to be an Activities Champion within the home - someone who can lead from the front, organise person-centred activities for our clients, encourage our clients to engage in activities, and make sure that activities are regular, varied and fun

So…what do we do? In short, we help, support and encourage people with mental health issues to lead their lives as independently as possible. PureCare offers high quality residential and community support services in Medway, Kent and Sussex and offers the best standard of support for its clients. Wherever possible, our aim is to rehabilitate our clients back into a life in the community.

Do you feel you have the skills to offer high quality support to others? We are looking for people who really do care about making a difference to the lives of others and who are committed to the cause.

Our Support Workers support clients with their cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, medication, appointments and wellbeing. As a Senior Support Worker you will be required to organise and manage your Support Workers to ensure clients receive the support they are both entitled to and deserve. Applications from people with cooking skills would be particularly welcome - the more you can help our clients develop in this area, or ensure they are eating good, healthy food, the better

You must have the ability to work both by yourself and as part of a team. Common sense and flexibility are imperative along with a good sense of humour You must be qualified to a minimum of QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care.

We currently have a Senior Support Worker position available for people who can demonstrate that they are prepared to work hard and be committed.

Please note that roles are offered on a zero hours contract basis, which enables the service to flex staffing according to occupancy. However, we are almost always able to offer 30+ hours per week for those who want full time hours, together with the opportunity to work support worker shifts for even more additional hours (support worker shifts are paid at £12.21 per hour)

Should you wish to apply for this post, please send us your CV.

Please note that a Disclosure and Barring Service check and employment references will be required.

Helping to rehabilitate and improve the outcomes for people with mental health issues is incredibly rewarding work.
