Job Title: Nursery Practitioner

Kiddikins Nursery

Small family run Ofsted Outstanding Provision has an opening for a Nursery Practitioner with immediate start.

we are looking for the right candidate to support the educational and social development of babies and young children up to the age of five, experience of working with children with additional need would be preferable.

This is initially a 1 year contract with potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Candidate must hold a relevant level 3 early years qualification and a current DBS.

Responsibilities:

- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in the nursery

- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and educational programs

- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, meals, and rest periods

- Observe and monitor children's behaviour, development, and well-being

- Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure the individual needs of each child are met

- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, including daily reports and developmental assessments

- Ensure the nursery is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies

- Follow health and safety guidelines to create a secure environment for children

Requirements:

- Minimum Level 3 Early Years Childcare or equivalent qualification

- Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting preferred

- Working knowledge of child development principles and practices

- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues

- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required

- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities

- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Up to £12.21 per hour

  • Management: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • DBS (required)
