Role Description
Based in the UK but supporting our international colleagues, w
e are looking for the Management Accountant role to take full ownership of the financial operations of their entities. This is a hands-on and varied role, offering the opportunity to develop best-in-class processes, enhance visibility of financial performance, and support the continued growth of our operations. Working closely with sales, projects, operations and other teams around the business, the successful candidate will support end-to-end financial reporting, tax & other compliance, cash flow forecasting, and commercial decision-making. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
Oversee the daily responsibilities of the finance function, and complete all aspects of month-end close for your entities, including journal entries & reconciliations and overseeing support from local accounting resource.
Lead monthly budgeting & communication to the wider business including feedback to department budget holders.
Maintain and manage the accounting system (currently Sage 50 for UK, Quickbooks for North America and Xero for Australia; moving to Epicor in 2026 as part of an ERP implementation project).
Prepare and submit accurate monthly management accounts, providing detailed variance analysis and commentary.
Identify areas of inefficiencies and cost savings, and lead projects to tackle these issues.
Payroll, Tax & Compliance
Coordinate the submission of payroll and tax filings in partnership with external advisors.
Support statutory audit and other compliance processes, liaising with auditors and other external advisors as their primary contact.
Cash Flow & Commercial Support
Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts and provide insight to support working capital management.
Oversee the sales invoicing and revenue recognition process, ensuring invoices are raised in a timely manner, resolve queries, and recommend appropriate credit limits.
Support the sales teams with negotiations, terms, and payment schedules.
Support team leaders around the business with process improvements and financial decision making.
ERP Implementation (Epicor)
Act as a key finance representative for the business in the global ERP (Epicor) implementation.
Support data cleansing and migration efforts to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Contribute to the design of system processes that reflect the needs and growth of our operations.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with global finance and leadership teams to align reporting and support strategic decision-making.
Identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency & controls around the financial reporting process.
Making your regular responsibilities
as streamlined and efficient as possible, allowing you to focus your time on partnering with the business on commercial & operational projects.
Desired Skills & Experience
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant experience in a similar role, or a first-mover from practice with related experience.
Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and financial & tax regulations, with the ability to grasp technical knowledge and new information quickly.
Ability to & interest in building strong relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
Hands-on experience with Sage 50, Quickbooks, Xero and/or ERP systems (Epicor experience a plus) is preferred, the ability to quickly maximise the utilisation of software solutions is essential.
Familiarity with multi-entity groups and international environments.
Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving business.
Sector experience in manufacturing, inventory management or supply chain is a bonus, but not essential.
