Sales Engineer – Commercial & Industrial
The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen within the C&I Business Unit for a proactive individual to join the AHU sales team as a Sales Engineer reporting to the Commercial Director.
Responsibilities for the role include:
- Achieve overall sales target – selling standard and bespoke ranges in line with specifications
- Generation of sales leads and managing the process from initial enquiry to order placement, including final negotiation
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers, consultants and end users, in line with the Company's 80/20 strategy
- Seek new business opportunities and create new relationships
- Understand market requirements
- With the support of the Estimating team, select and cost products using bespoke software packages
- Feed into Product Development to assist with coordinating sales strategy with the right equipment and cost elements clearly defined
- Identify market movers (new products, systems, trends)
- Proactive forward planning of monthly appointments and meetings
- Update CRM as required
Major challenges of the role:
- Competitive market place
- Pressure on price/profitability
- Maturity and scale of projects
Requirements:
- Highly self-motivated
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills are essential
- Excellent communication skills with confidence and ability to provide sales and CPD presentations
- Computer literate including use of Microsoft packages: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales and/or the Building Services/HVAC industry (ideally Engineering qualification required, minimum HND or degree)
- Strong understanding of air handling units.
- Ability to communicate and work with different groups of people effectively throughout Airedale and externally
- You will have established contacts within Mechanical and Electrical Consultants and Contractors
