Shenfield Day Nursery – Where children are cherished

Nursery Lunch Cover / After School Club Practitioner

30 hours per week – Term Time Only

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic practitioner to join Shenfield Day Nursery as part of our Nursery and After School Club team. Ideally, you will hold a minimum Level 2 childcare qualification (Level 3 or above preferred) and have experience working in either a before and after school club or a day nursery setting.

This role offers a minimum of 30 hours per week. You will support our Shenfield Day Nursery team during lunchtime, starting at 11:30 am, before moving to St. Mary's C of E Primary School, Shenfield, from 3:00 pm to 6:15 pm each afternoon. This is a term-time-only position.

At our club, we value outdoor exploration and encourage children to engage with the natural world. We make full use of the school's excellent facilities, which include a large playing field, woodland areas, playground equipment, and a garden gazebo. Children enjoy free play outdoors, a range of indoor games and activities, and a cosy quiet area to relax after the school day. Our team is also on hand to support children with homework when needed.

All staff receive regular supervisions and annual appraisals to support professional development. Core training—including Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, and Equal Opportunities—is refreshed every three years. The Shenfield Day Nursery Management Team provides ongoing support and oversight to the club.

We believe our Before & After School Clubs should complement, not replicate, the school day. Above all, our aim is to provide a high-quality service and a safe, enjoyable environment where children can develop social skills, build friendships, and use their imagination. Staff members are also entitled to a free place for their child at our clubs.
