It's an exciting time to be part of UKSBS as we transform our business to be the leading UK public sector business service provider. We aim to become a very different organisation over the next few years as we move to a modern multi-platform, digitally enabled organisation.

The Corporate Delivery (CD) Directorate plays a central role in shaping and supporting the organisation's internal operations and strategic direction. It brings together key enabling functions, including Finance, HR, Strategy and Planning, Risk, Partnerships, Project Management Office (PMO), Programme and Project Management, Agile Working, Communications, Onboarding, Enterprise Architecture, Business Analytics and Commercial, to provide a cohesive and efficient corporate backbone that supports the entire organisation.

We now have an opening within the team for a Program Co-Ordinator. This is a really exciting opportunity to work on the dynamic and fast-paced MoG programme whilst also getting a flavour of BAU programme co-ordination work and an understanding of handling standard CRs.  As a Programme Coordinator you will play a pivotal supporting role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of the Programme. You will contribute to resource planning, track performance and progress and lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes that meet stakeholder expectations. Additionally, your role will include regular reporting, stakeholder engagement and administrative oversight to ensure efficient and transparent project operations

Duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Lead smaller, less complex technical projects from inception to delivery into live service delivering on time, within budget and to the agreed quality
  • Assist in the development of project management documentation, such as budgets, plans, PIDs and RAIDDA within complex projects
  • Utilise effective project management disciplines and management techniques to ensure successful delivery
  • Involvement in the administrative tasks, such as budgets and monitoring monthly time recording across the project
  • Help the Project Manager monitor progress and team performance within the project
  • Play a key role in the shaping of projects, working with delivery and customer stakeholder managers
  • Plan and resource projects and delivery tranches using a mix of employees, clients, contractors, and work packages delivered by 3rd parties
  • Monitor and control allocated resources including people, budget, and infrastructure
  • Lead the team(s) to deliver according to plan to meet stakeholder expectations
  • Produce regular reports and presentations for project governance
  • Foster cross-team collaborating to help project team members complete project tasks and produce deliverables
  • Use Agile and Waterfall approaches, as appropriate to the project
  • Manage any quality assurance activity required for the project

To do this role well you will possess the following:

  • Good working knowledge and experience of using Project Management frameworks, disciplines, and policies (e.g. Agile, SAFe, PRINCE2 or PRINCE2 Agile, Managing Successful Programmes, APM).

  • Understanding of project risk management, including methods and techniques for the assessment and management of risk

  • Basic negotiation and influencing skills at department and team level, including experience with clients at all levels and suppliers

  • Good organisational skills, which include time management, delegation, planning, goal setting and decision making

  • Good problem-solving skills which enable the creations of solutions and strategies within projects

  • Good communication skills

  • Proven experience of managing change projects

  • Competent using Jira and MS Project

  • Experience supporting or coordinating projects related to cyber security, including an understanding of key concepts such as data protection, risk management, and compliance frameworks would be highly advantageous
