Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Porter to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our facilities while ensuring the smooth operation of deliveries and logistics. This position requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills and a solid understanding of mechanical operations.

Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in designated areas, including warehouses and delivery zones.
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods from vehicles, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
  • Operate flatbed vehicles and vans for deliveries, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory levels and any issues that arise.
  • Provide support in warehouse operations, including stock management and organisation of materials.
  • Assist with basic mechanical tasks as needed, utilising mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Porter or in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Valid driver's licence with experience driving vans or flatbed vehicles; commercial driving experience is an advantage.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
