Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to facilitate the movement of materials within our warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and the ability to perform heavy lifting as well as basic equipment repairs. Shift 14:00-22:00

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from lorries and containers.
  • Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory management.
  • Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking and storage in designated areas.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on forklift equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in the organisation of the warehouse, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness at all times.
  • Utilise basic maths skills for inventory counts and measurements as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and enhance productivity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment is essential.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs.
  • Experience in materials handling, shipping, and receiving processes is preferred.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
