GENERAL MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS OPERATIVE
We are a lettings and property management company specialising in day-to-day maintenance and repairs across a large portfolio of properties. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and multi-skilled Maintenance Operative with a broad range of general maintenance and handyman experience.
While most of our properties are in Essex, we also manage properties in South East London and the surrounding South East area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and organise day-to-day repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Oversee repair works from start to completion, ensuring a high standard of quality.
- Order replacement parts and materials as required.
- Plumbing: Leak detection and repair, blocked drainage, replacement taps, toilets, and pipework.
- Boilers: Knowledge of repairing conventional boilers.
- Guttering: Clearing, repair, and replacement.
- Electrical: Replacing sockets, switches, light fittings (internal and external), electrical alterations, and cabling.
- Carpentry: Repair and installation of doors, cabinets, door/window locks, blinds, and curtains.
- Glazing: Replacement of glass, sash cords, and springs.
- Masonry: Pointing, minor repairs, and pest prevention measures.
- Central Heating: Boiler fault repairs (non-gas related), radiator removal and replacement.
- Tiling: Floor and wall tiling, including grouting and silicone.
- Painting & Decorating: Surface preparation, plastering, sanding, painting, and varnishing of wooden surfaces.
- Appliance Maintenance: Installation, fault diagnosis, and replacement of parts (e.g., door seals, heating elements, fans).
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in general maintenance (required).
- Multi-skilled across trades.
- Professional, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Willingness to travel to properties across Essex and South East London.
- Flexible and respectful.
- CLEAN DRIVING LICENCE IS ESSENTIAL (company vehicle and tools provided).
