About the role
As an Assistant Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Head of Purchasing in controlling the hotel business in respect of Purchasing & Logistics Management. You will ensure smooth running of the Purchasing department, including overseeing Goods receiving, working to the highest of standards and representing Mandarin Oriental.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- To identify, evaluate, negotiate and help select suppliers who best meet business requirements.
- To handle the Purchase administration.
- To ensure the utilization of the most competitive quotes from suppliers that can meet MOMAY's specifications in terms of quality and delivery schedule.
- To assist the Head of Purchasing in sourcing new products and service providers as and when required.
- To assist the Head of Purchasing with projects such as capex and budgets proposals.
- To carry out spot checks on purchased goods for quality and price competitiveness.
- To liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers.
- To liaise with the Executive Chef & Head Chef on Food quality and FLHSS policy for goods receiving and storage.
- To train and supervise the work of other members in the team.
- To oversee the day-to-day smooth running of the Purchasing department, including F&B and NON F&B.
- To adhere to the hotel purchasing procedures.
- To check Logistics and ensure we are complying with all the requirements.
