Key Responsibilities Of The Credit Control Manager

  • Manage and mentor the credit control team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Develop and implement robust credit control policies that align with regulatory standards and internal best practices.
  • Assess client creditworthiness and set appropriate credit limits based on risk analysis.
  • Monitor aged debt and bad debt provision, resolving overdue accounts while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Oversee cash collection forecasting and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Produce and analyse key performance indicators to track and improve collection performance.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve complex credit issues and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Liaise with external recovery partners when necessary to support effective debt resolution.
  • Report regularly to senior leadership on collection performance, risks, and recovery progress.
  • Contribute to finance-wide improvement initiatives, including system and process enhancements.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in credit management, ideally within a complex environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of credit control systems (e.g., SAP or similar).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks relevant to credit control.
  • Commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets or supplier contracts.
  • Professional qualification in credit management or finance (e.g., CICM) is desirable.
  • Experience working with professional clients or service-based billing cycles is an advantage.
