We are looking to appoint an innovative and driven Principal Sustainability Consultant to join our thriving Sustainability discipline in Cardiff.Benefits of the RoleA 9-day fortnight schemeSupportive community groups and social networksExtensive technical and professional development programmesPrivate medical coverElectric vehicle salary sacrifice schemeStock optionsUp to 30 days annual leaveDuties of a Principal Sustainability ConsultantLead sustainability workstreams and act as Discipline Project Lead.Develop and coordinate project resource plans.Deliver sustainability documents for planning applications.Lead client and design team workshops with clarity and confidence.Delegate, manage, and review the work of junior colleagues.Undertake or oversee:Part L, Part O, overheating and energy simulationsEnvironmental and wellbeing assessments (BREEAM, WELL, HQM)Whole life carbon assessmentsNet zero carbon strategiesOperational energy analysisSupport Technical Excellence communities and contribute to knowledge development.Mentor and train junior team members across technical, consultancy, and project delivery skills.Requirements of a Principal Sustainability ConsultantAdvanced building performance simulation (Part L, Part O, thermal comfort).Leadership of sustainability workstreams and project teams.Training and mentoring experience.Delivery of environmental and wellbeing assessments.Whole life carbon assessment (ideally using OneClick LCA).Experience supporting successful planning applications, with Cardiff and London market experience advantageous.Interested in this or other roles in Sustainability and Energy, please do not hesitate to contact Caitlin Richards.This is a permanent role. xpwpeyx Penguin Recruitment is operating as a Recruitment Agency in respect to this position.
