OverviewUI Designer role at Global Relay within its enterprise applications space. The UI Designer focuses on visually guiding the user through a product’s interface across web, desktop and mobile, creating high-fidelity mock-ups, iconography, UI illustration and other graphic assets. You will work with other UI/UX Designers, Product Managers and Engineering teams in an agile environment from concept to delivery to help define product vision and improve the design system.All potential applicants are encouraged to scroll through and read the complete job description before applying.ResponsibilitiesDesign and evolve the look and feel of Global Relay's visual languageFollow a human-centered design approach and adhere to UX best practicesApply principles of layout, typography, visual hierarchy and motion designDeliver pixel-perfect graphic assets that are aesthetically vibrantLead and create user interfaces that are sleek and easy to useTranslate high-level requirements and interaction flows into intuitive UIsCommunicate design ideas within the UX team and with non-creative stakeholdersDevelop storyboards, wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypesDesign and document new components and interaction patterns for the Design SystemEnsure designs meet WCAG and WAI-ARIA accessibility standardsAdhere to existing patterns and apply consistencyIdentify opportunities for UI improvement or differentiationFacilitate workshops for cross-team alignment on new standardsSupport engineers in building the design systemMeasure and monitor component performanceChampion and uphold a solid UI practice and be accountable for UI outputCollaborate with engineering teams to test and iterate on interface designGuide engineering through build and QA processesCollaborate with other UI/UX designers to solve complex workflowsCoach and support junior UI designersAbout you5+ years of experience in visual/UI design for web, desktop and mobilePortfolio of relevant UI design work from shipped products/apps/servicesBachelor's degree in a design-related discipline is preferableStrong understanding of user-centred design practicesSolid typography and colour theory knowledgeAbility to create icons, illustrations and other assets for the webAbility to create and iterate on high-fidelity mock-upsAbility to create high-fidelity prototypes to communicate motion and transitionsClear verbal and visual communication of UI ideasOwnership mindset and creative problem-solvingExperience with design systems and component librariesKnowledge of responsive and mobile design guidelinesKnowledge of accessibility best practicesProficiency with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, SketchExcellent written and verbal communicationAbility to multi-task in a dynamic environmentMotion design experience is an assetExperience in an enterprise environment and Agile is an assetWhat you can expectAt Global Relay, there’s opportunity to grow and be mentored in a culture that values creativity and perseverance.
