Large Loss Lawyer - 2+ Years PQE | National Law FirmEnsure all your application information is up to date and in order before applying for this opportunity.Our client is a leading national law firm with a highly regarded Large Loss team, providing expert legal services in the area of catastrophic injury claims and complex insurance matters. The team handles claims valued at over £350,000, with total reserves exceeding £800 million. They deal with a wide range of cases including motor, employers' liability, public liability, and product liability claims. These often involve serious injuries, such as brain, spinal, and amputation injuries, as well as substantial dependency fatality claims.We are currently looking to recruit a Large Loss Lawyer with 2+ years of PQE to join the team and manage a diverse caseload of high-value and catastrophic personal injury (PI) cases.Key ResponsibilitiesManage your own caseload of complex, high-value catastrophic injury casesAssist senior lawyers in handling corporate transactional work and advisory mattersConduct initial investigations, including preparing internal strategy reports and client updatesLiaise with insurers, solicitors, the police, HSE, and witnesses to gather evidenceInstruct experts as needed for case progressionManage case diaries and action listsAttend court hearings as necessary and support in settlement negotiations and joint settlement meetings (JSMs)Draft reports, letters, and action plans as directedMentor and support junior team members, contributing to their developmentEnsure compliance with data protection, legal procedures (CPR), and rehabilitation protocolsMeet set financial and chargeable targets/KPIsStay current with developments in personal injury lawMaintain a high standard of client service and adhere to internal policies and proceduresThis role offers variety and requires a flexible approach, as you will be working on a broad spectrum of high-value and complex cases, with the opportunity to gain further experience in a supportive and dynamic team.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have:At least 2 years' PQE, with experience managing a defendant personal injury litigation caseload (Motor, EL/PL experience preferred)Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlinesExcellent communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a teamKnowledge of CPR procedures and strong technical legal abilityA proactive attitude, with an eagerness to learn and developPrevious experience with Large Loss cases is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.Why Work for Us?This is an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning law firm, recognised as one of the leading employers in the UK.
