Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic, motivated and experienced senior manager to join the unplanned care division at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as General Manager for cluster 2. While a review of the overarching structure for the organisation is being developed, some aspects of cluster 3 will fall into the remit of this role.Find out more about the daily tasks, overall responsibilities, and required experience for this opportunity by scrolling down now.Working closely with Clinical leaders and Matrons for the cluster and reporting directly to the Associate Director, the role is responsible for the financial, people and operational management of high performing departments as well as leading on various service improvement projects to support the achievement of the emergency standards. As one of three general management roles within the division, which also includes clinical support services and acute medicine, you will work closely as part of a committed and passionate multi-disciplinary team.This is a significant opportunity for an experienced manager who wishes to extend their skills and knowledge within a high‑profile leadership role in an ‘outstanding’ organisation committed to delivering high quality patient care.ResponsibilitiesOverall management and leadership of Cluster 2, delivering, developing and evaluating all services within the remit.Ensure effective and efficient structures are in place to meet all standards of patient care and manage risk and governance matters.Support the Clinical Director in developing efficient, patient‑centred services, meeting key financial and operational performance targets, and implementing processes for national and local targets.Review the efficiency and effectiveness of services in terms of cost‑effectiveness and financial flows.Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and exploit opportunities for service redesign through the application of relevant service improvement techniques.Deputise for the Associate Director as required and participate in the on‑call rota for the Trust.Qualifications and ExperienceExtensive general and operational management experience, ideally within an acute hospital setting.Evidence knowledge of inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic services.A flexible and compassionate approach to leadership, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.Interview NotificationInterviews for the post are tentatively scheduled for the week commencing 5th January.Trust Culture and ValuesCompassionate: we treat everyone with kindness, understanding and empathy.Inclusive: we are respectful, fair and open, embracing everyone’s unique contribution.Collaborative: we work together across our teams and with our partners and are helpful, positive and supportive. xpwpeyx Inspiring: we strive for the best for patients, staff and partners and are always learning and improving.Our training, policies, procedures, and practices are all intended to support behaviours in line with our values, and all staff are expected to uphold these by ‘Living Our Values’ every day.***Please see the attached supporting document/s which contains more information about the role in the job description and person specification***This advert closes on Sunday 21 Dec 2025.#J-18808-Ljbffr
