Job DescriptionWe're looking for a Supervisor to join our Transportation team based in Birmingham.  In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing the delivery of planned maintenance, reactive works, third-party repairs, winter services, and scheme-related activities. You'll ensure effective supervision of both directly employed teams and subcontractors to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and performance. Your role will ensure activities are properly supervised to meet health and safety standards, stay within budget and programme timelines, achieve client satisfaction, and fulfil all key performance indicators (KPIs).Your day to day will include:Accountability for Operative behaviours when carrying out their operational duties including HR, HSEQ, commercial and administration, promoting health & safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with the general health & safety responsibilitiesActively promoting the company culture and values including equal opportunities and respect for all, championing use of, and compliance with the SHEMSUndertaking shift briefings, site inductions, toolbox talks with all operational staff identifying risks and hazards and managing / maintaining relevant records, completing site records, daily allocation sheets, daily handover reports, diaries and audit checksEnsure work packs are relevant and suitable for purpose, ensuring all site-specific hazards are managed, conducting inspections monitoring workmanship and material quantities for all works, carrying out various audits including: gate checks, works surveillance safety audits, depot inspections, health and safety site inspections as required, allocating daily and supervision of works and resources to maintain compliance with works programmesAssisting with the management of incidents and defects cascaded through the OCR, communicating with sub-contractors, the emergency services, general public, clients and customers, take part in the development, recruitment and selection of new operatives and apprenticesWhat are we looking for?This role of Supervisor is great if you have:Relevant experience in a supervisory role along with knowledge of highway works in carriageways / footwaysCan drive and hold a full driving licence NRSWA operative / Supervisor qualifiedRewards and benefitsWe're proud to be able to offer our brilliant people a wide variety of benefits that you can tailor to your needs.
