This exciting and stimulating role involves developing novel methods to deliver target analytes to our nanopore sensors and to control their movement through the nanopore to unleash the full potential of our unique platform.The detailsGenerate DNA analytes and perform sequencing library preparationPerform electrophysiology experiments on our sequencing devices to evaluate novel sequencing chemistry componentsAnalyse rich datasets using the command-line interface and custom scriptsWrite clear reports and conclusions and present updates at larger group meetingsWork closely with multidisciplinary teams from synthetic chemistry to platform engineering to develop next-generation analyte delivery technologiesWhat we are looking for...EssentialA BSc or Masters in Life Sciences or a related fieldProven ability to execute molecular biology techniques to a high standardExcellent reporting communication and teamwork skillsSolid understanding of protein and DNA structuresBasic knowledge of the principles of nanopore sequencingDesirableStrong data analysis skillsA creative approach to solving challenging technical challengesApplications are encouraged from candidates who can adapt quickly to new situations and enjoy working with an agile approach to research.We offer outstanding benefits to include an attractive bonus generous pension contributions private healthcare and an excellent starting salary.
