Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

Over its life, Saltus has grown at approximately 40% per annum, doubling its Assets Under Management (AuM) every two years. Today we are at £10bn AUM and have an M&A pipeline to continue that growth over the next three years. As part of our expansion, we are actively recruiting across the Saltus Finance team to ensure that we can continue to meet the needs of the growing business, both in terms of revenues and complexity.The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, developing FP&A professional to join the newly created FP&A team and shape budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes for the future growth of the business.Reporting to the Director of FP&A, we are looking for someone with experience in a senior FP&A role where they have led budget and forecast processes, developed best in class reporting and KPI suites and worked alongside senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have used a planning tool such as Anaplan in a previous role.Why Saltus? You’ll work alongside the Director of FP&A and other qualified finance professionals to:Take ownership of the annual budget and five-year plan as well as in-year re-forecasts, utilising Anaplan to work with Finance Business Partners and produce a comprehensive, well-understood forecast including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflows and funding requirementsLead the integration of Anaplan as our primary tool for reporting and planning including M&A deal modelling and statutory reportingDevelop a suite of best-in-class reporting and KPIs for senior internal stakeholders as well as shareholders, providing insights to drive value creationWork closely with the Financial Control, Data and People teams to enhance the integrity and consistency of financial and non-financial data to facilitate divisional, propositional and departmental planning and reportingWork with Finance Business Partners to track and report risks and opportunities (and their potential financial impact) across the businessProvide ad-hoc strategic analysis, including investment appraisal and deal modelling, to support Saltus’ ambitious growth plansWhat skills and experience do I need to have? We think that the best candidate for this role will have:Proven track record in a senior FP&A role within a dynamic, fast-growing business, ideally in financial services or wealth managementDemonstrable experience successfully leading a budget and forecast process in a complex businessPrevious experience working closely with a planning tool, ideally AnaplanACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with three to five years post-qualification experience in a relevant roleCommercial acumen and experience monitoring and reporting on cashflows and funding requirements, ideally within a private equity environmentEnergy and passion with the drive to create processes and tools from scratchExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with strong attention to detailThe ability to take ownership and responsibility for tasks and projects, working autonomously but knowing when to ask for helpProficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) and strong Excel skillsA willingness and flexibility to travel to office sites as requiredWhere will I be working? We’re incredibly flexible about where, when, and how you work: we don’t want anyone to be prevented from coming to work for Saltus as a result of the working pattern that they’re looking for. We’d target two to three days each week in an office, the remainder of the week from home. Ideally, you’d be based out of the Southampton (Whiteley) office, co-located with the rest of the Saltus finance team. We’d ask you to work one day from the Southampton office on a day when the rest of the finance team are also in the office and another day in an office if your choice at one of our offices across the UK.We have locations across the South and in the West Country, all of which are available to work from.
