Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with fellow partners and the multidisciplinary team.We would expect our new partner to be an integral leader of our practice family, leading by example with high quality clinical practice as well as being business-minded with a deep commitment to our practice ethos. For this commitment you will be well rewarded financially and will have the opportunity also to invest in our well-kept practice premises.About usWe are a small but very happy and progressive training practice serving c.6,200 patients located in a pleasant suburb of Bournemouth near the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and adjacent to the JP Morgan Bournemouth site.Our team consists of 2 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, a part-time in-house Clinical Pharmacist, an experienced Physician Associate, 2 experienced Practice Nurses with respiratory and diabetes special interests, and an Advanced HCA, supported by a friendly and efficient administrative and management team.We are part of a forward thinking and well-functioning Primary Care Network, Bournemouth East Collaborative PCN which provide a great visiting service and Enhanced Care Team as well as excellent access to First Contact Physios, Mental Health Practitioners and Pharmacists as well as providing the out of hours GP appointments at the PCN treatment centre. There will also be opportunities for the successful candidate to become involved in the PCN in senior roles.Our practice is well known for its holistic family centred care, with a manageable list size enabling continuity and high-quality personalised care. We have consistently high levels of patient and staff satisfaction.Job responsibilitiesThe following are the core responsibilities of the GP partner. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled populationThe provision of services commensurate with the PMS contractGeneric prescribing adhering to local and national guidanceEffective management of long-term conditionsProcessing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasksOn a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor rolesAccept responsibility for a specialist interest within the practice i.e. dermatologyMaintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidanceContribute to the effective management of the practice, including administration, planning, strategy, BRPs etc.Show leadership qualities, working collaboratively, ensuring an even distribution of the practice workloadIdentify, implement and embed best practice through clinical guidelines and the audit processTake responsibility for continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practiceAccept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOFAttend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as requiredRepresent the practice at external meetingsContribute to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HREnsure compliance with the appraisal processPrepare and complete the revalidation processCommit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice teamTraining of medical students from all clinical disciplinesRemain fully focused on the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditurePrepare and attend partnership meetings contributing in a positive mannerReview and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all timesEncourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all timesIn addition to the primary responsibilities, the GP Partner may be requested to:Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit leadParticipate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient careParticipate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)Drive the development of enhanced services within the practice, liaising with external agencies and professional organisations as requiredPerson SpecificationQualificationsQualified GPMRCGPFull GMC Registration without restrictionsNational Performers List registrationEligibility to practice in the UK independentlyExperience of working in a primary care environmentExperience of continued professional developmentExperience of QOF and clinical auditGeneral understanding of the PMS contractOutstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate xpwpeyx with that of an experienced GP / GP PartnerExcellent communication skills (written and oral)Clear, polite telephone mannerCompetent in the use of Office and OutlookEffective time management (Planning & Organising)Ability to work as a team member and autonomouslyExcellent interpersonal skillsProblem solving & analytical skillsAbility to follow clinical policy and procedureExperience with audit and able to lead audit programmesExperience with clinical risk managementPolite and confidentFlexible and cooperativeMotivated, forward thinkerProblem solver with the ability to process information accurately and effectively, interpreting data as requiredHigh levels of integrity and loyaltySensitive and empathetic in distressing situationsAbility to work under pressure / in stressful situationsEffectively able to communicate and understand the needs of the patientCommitment to ongoing professional developmentPunctual and committed to supporting the team effortFlexibility to work outside of core office hoursOccupational Health ClearanceProject lead as required with CQC, ICBs and QOFStrategic business planningPartake in financial management decisions/meetingsGP Trainer - CCT Prospective Trainer Course (PTC) / PG Certificate in Medical EducationExperience of medicines managementExperience of NHS initiativesDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
