Job Summary As the Practice Lead Nurse you will oversee the HCA and Care Coordinator team, provide clinical leadership, and act as the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Lead across multiple sites. Responsibilities Diagnose and treat minor illnesses within scope of competence and the NMC Code of Practice. Deliver evidence‑based care following NICE and NHS guidelines. Support and promote patient self‑care and adherence to treatment. Manage chronic disease care for Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, Hypertension. Perform foot checks, blood pressure checks, urinalysis, wound care, compression bandaging, baby immunisations, cervical screening, contraception reviews, health checks, dietary advice. Undertake phlebotomy, injections, and assist in minor procedures. Manage vaccine stock, storage and ordering processes. Lead the seasonal flu campaign, including patient recalls, vaccine administration, data recording and staff coordination. Support QOF target delivery and participate in QOF reviews. Act as IPC Lead, conduct audits, staff training, ensure CQC compliance. Supervise and mentor HCAs and new clinical staff. Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to audits and service development. Qualifications Registered Nurse with current NMC registration. Experience in general practice, preferably as a lead Practice Nurse. Infection‑prevention and control experience. Knowledge of NICE, NHS, QOF, and PHE/DPH guidance. PC literate and comfortable using EMIS or similar practice software. Experience Prioritising needs and making informed care decisions. Developing services based on client needs. Understanding of primary care organisational policy and national legislation. Personal Qualities Independent and team‑oriented working style. Self‑motivation, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills. Adaptable, forward‑thinking, and conflict‑management ability. Professionalism, respect for equality and diversity. Additional Information Permanent, full‑time, 37.5 hours Monday‑Friday. Salary depends on experience. Post requires Disclosure and Barring Service check and UK professional registration.
