Job Summary Join our fast‑paced and friendly Tech Bar team within The Christie's Digital Services department. We handle around 4,500 service requests per month, providing exceptional IT support to staff across the Trust. As Tier 2 Team Lead, you will supervise the Tier 2 Tech Bar team, ensuring efficient, responsive, and customer‑focused technical support in line with corporate Service Level Agreements. You'll work closely with the Tier 1 Team Lead, IT Service Delivery Manager and Digital Operations Lead to maintain high standards and support the Trust's IT strategy. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Tier 2 Tech Bar team, ensuring excellent customer service. Oversee day‑to‑day operations and monitor performance against SLAs. Collaborate with Tier 1 Lead and IT Service Delivery Manager to maintain quality standards. Support the delivery of the Trust's IT strategy and operational goals. Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues. Foster a positive, structured, and high‑performing team culture. Ensure all logged calls are responded to and resolved within agreed SLA's, with accurate recording in the ITSM tool. Plan and prioritise IT support activities, co‑ordinate holidays, shift rota, training schedules and delegation of ad‑hoc tasks. Provide regular performance reports and monitor key performance indicators. Communicate complicated technical issues to non‑technical staff or suppliers. Maintain and update ITSM tool and policies within the team. Lead on incident and problem management, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. Act as a champion for Tier 2 support, promoting best practice and continuous improvement. Participate in core business support rota and out‑of‑hours on‑call rota as required. Work collaboratively with the IT Service Delivery Manager on service delivery and improvement plans. Support business appraisals, procurement and budgetary management as needed. Contribute to governance and compliance, ensuring ITIL, GDPR and NHS policies are followed. About You Proven leadership or supervisory experience. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong technical background with experience in IT support. Ability to work independently and make informed decisions. Business awareness and understanding of IT service delivery frameworks (ITIL desirable). Qualifications & Experience Post‑graduate qualification or equivalent experience. Extensive technical background in an IT support role. Experience supervising a team. Strong knowledge of IT hardware and software, including Microsoft Windows, Office 365, SCCM and Active Directory. Experience with incident and problem management, change management and ITIL processes. Ability to prioritise own work and that of others. Desirable: Degree in IT, ITIL Foundation Certificate, NHS experience, public sector procurement, technical refresh management, LAN/WAN/network knowledge, disaster recovery, project workstreams. Skills Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills. Analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Capacity to organise and prioritise workload and adapt to variable workload.
