Angio Anaesthetic ODP/Nurse (Bank) Location: Cromwell Hospital, 164-178 Cromwell Road, Kensington, SW5 0TU Contract: Bank Shifts Hourly Rate: £34 per hour Job Description Due to our recent growth and expansion in our Angio service at the Cromwell Hospital, we are recruiting an experienced flexible Angiography Nurse to join our bank. Role Overview This role requires an experienced practitioner with proven competence in both cardiac catheterisation and interventional radiology environments. The Anaesthetic ODP/Nurse will support emergency services as part of an on‑call rota, and work a flexible shift pattern to meet the needs of the Cath Lab service. Key Responsibilities Assist the anaesthetist during induction, maintenance and emergence from anaesthesia, including airway device preparation, intubation assistance and monitoring patient vital signs. Prepare and set up all anaesthetic equipment and medications prior to each procedure, maintaining stock and administering drugs according to hospital policies. Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (cardiologists, interventional radiologists, anaesthetists, radiographers, etc.) to ensure seamless patient care. Assist with pre‑procedure preparation, patient consent and safe transfer to the procedure table. In procedures using local anaesthesia or conscious sedation, help plan and deliver sedation, monitor consciousness and cardiorespiratory status, and document all observations. Adhere to infection prevention and control standards and radiation safety protocols. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, recording variances, complications and patient conditions. Respond promptly to intra‑procedure emergencies and participate in resuscitation according to Advanced Life Support guidelines. Contribute to efficient Cath Lab list management, preparing equipment and drugs ahead of upcoming cases. Qualifications Current UK professional registration as a Registered Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC) or a Registered Nurse (NMC). Diploma of Higher Education or BSc in Operating Department Practice, or BSc Nursing (or equivalent). An anaesthetic course certification if RN or equivalent ODP training certificate. Evidence of ongoing professional development in cardiology, radiology, pain management or conscious sedation. Benefits Hourly rate includes payment of annual leave.
