We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Family Solicitor to join our busy team in Southampton, England. Key Responsibilities As a Family Solicitor, you will manage a varied caseload, providing high-quality legal services to our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include: Handling a diverse caseload covering all aspects of private family law, including divorce, dissolution of civil partnerships, financial settlements (ancillary relief), and pre-nuptial/post-nuptial agreements. Advising on complex children matters, such as child arrangement orders, specific issue orders, prohibited steps orders, and relocation applications. Conducting client meetings, providing clear and practical advice, and maintaining excellent client communication throughout the process. Drafting legal documents, including court applications, statements, and settlement agreements. Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and potentially in court hearings (advocacy skills are desirable). Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of family law legislation and case law. Actively participating in business development and networking opportunities. What We Are Looking For (Essential Criteria) You must be a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales. 1-5 years of Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) specialising in private family law. Demonstrable experience managing a full and varied family law caseload with minimal supervision. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. A proven track record of maintaining high professional and ethical standards. Strong commitment to client care and achieving the best possible outcomes. Desirable Attributes Accreditation with Resolution or similar professional body. Ability to handle high net worth financial remedy cases.
