Commercial cleaning services in a hospital setting refer to professional cleaning operations carried out by specialised companies to maintain hygiene, safety, and regulatory compliance in healthcare environments. Here's a breakdown of what they typically involve: What It Includes Infection Control Cleaning Disinfection of high-touch surfaces (e.g., bed rails, doorknobs, equipment). Use of hospital-grade disinfectants and PPE. Adherence to protocols like the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness (UK). Clinical Area Cleaning Operating theatres, patient rooms, ICUs, and treatment areas. Cleaning and sanitizing medical equipment surfaces (non-invasive). Waste segregation and disposal (including clinical waste). General Facility Cleaning Corridors, waiting rooms, staff areas, and public restrooms. Floor care (mopping, vacuuming, polishing). Qualifications and Preferences Previous cleaning experience in hospital or commercial settings preferred. Understanding of health and safety regulations. COSCHH trained.Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or night shifts. Enhanced DBS check may be required for hospital work.
