Job Summary The Anaesthetics Department at Dorset County NHS Foundation Trust has a vacancy for a Specialty Doctor. The successful applicant will join an established, successful, enthusiastic and ACSA accredited team delivering quality anaesthetic, perioperative, and critical care services to the local West Dorset population and adjoining areas. This includes anaesthetic support for surgical teams (Orthopaedics, Vascular Surgery, Ophthalmology, Maxillo‑facial, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Urology, Colorectal, General Surgery), radiology suite, endoscopy unit, and the Intensive Care Unit at DCH. Details Date posted: 27 November 2025 Pay scheme: Hospital medical and dental staff Grade: Specialty Doctor Salary: £61,542 – £99,216 a year Contract: Permanent Working pattern: Full‑time Reference number: 405‑MD2585ANAES Job locations: Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Williams Avenue, Dorchester, DT1 2JY Responsibilities The timetable is flexible: up to 20 hours per week, covering elective surgical lists, obstetric cover, and on‑call duties as 1st (Critical Care) or 2nd (Theatre and Obstetrics) tier (12‑hour shifts). Staffing runs on an 8‑week rolling rota with approximately 36 lists per period, plus on‑call commitment. Specialist interests may be accommodated, and an attached training list is provided each week. CPD includes at least one SPA per year.
