Senior Concept Artist - 18-month FTC Join Dambuster Studios – creators of the BAFTA‑nominated smash hit Dead Island 2 – for an 18‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is based in Nottingham but can be full‑studio, hybrid (2‑3 days per week) or remote within the UK. Applicants must already be based in the UK and, if remote, will be required to visit the studio as requested. Role Overview We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Concept Artist with a standout portfolio and experience on AAA titles. You will work with our Associate Lead Concept Artist and Art Directors to set the artistic standard, blending creative flair with problem‑solving skills, clear communication and a passion for collaboration. Plan and execute concepting work in collaboration with other departments. Collaborate with stakeholders and Production to create and maintain an accurate, estimated backlog of tasks for planning. Lead by example in the quality of work and attitude, supporting the project and co‑workers. Requirements Portfolio demonstrating a wide range and broad depth of experience as a generalist. Portfolio that clearly shows understanding of the difference between illustrations and production concepts. Expert knowledge of Photoshop and other digital art tools. Excellent drawing and conceptualisation skills with the ability to adapt to established styles and generate character, environment, and prop focused concept art. Proven ability to generate a visual solution to a complex brief while adhering closely to the art pillars of the project. Solid knowledge of fundamental illustration skills including composition, perspective, lighting, and colour theory. In‑depth anatomical and architectural knowledge. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. Adaptable and versatile with a can‑do attitude.
