Size of the TeamYou will work as part of a team of Domestic Supervisors dedicated to providing a wide and varied range of domestic services that support clinical services throughout the region. Position OverviewThe Domestic Supervisor will be responsible for the allocation of work, daily supervision, training and welfare of staff within your area. Excellent communication, both written and verbal, strong interpersonal skills and basic computing competence are essential. Previous supervisory experience within the NHS and familiarity with NHS standards and procedures are advantageous. Flexibility on shift – including the potential for additional cover during periods of leave – is required. Responsibilities Allocate work and supervise staff daily. Train new and existing staff on cleaning standards and safety procedures. Ensure welfare and performance of staff and promote a safe, caring and respectful working environment. Adopt proactive initiative and work as part of a team. Use core NHS cleaning specification to meet Facilities Monitoring Tool targets. Own continuous development and maintain up-to-date knowledge of infection control, COSHH, moving and handling and other relevant codes of practice. Required Training and Knowledge Safe Systems of Work/Work Schedules Departmental Risk Assessments (COSHH, General, Moving and Handling) Codes of Practice/Infection Control Guidelines Correct and economical use of materials and equipment Use of PPE Waste Management Linen Bagging Policy Security Procedures Datix Job Shadowing (first week) Domestic Services Core Value Statement Organisational Policies Caldicott Guidelines (confidentiality) Hours of Work11 hours per week – Saturday & Sunday 08:00‑14:00.
