Main duties of the job We focus on a short-term treatment planning approach to manage patient care and maximise patient input into their care, to enable us to effectively and efficiently manage caseloads. We will help you identify your knowledge, skills and developmental needs, which will become part of your annual training plan. You will work in a supportive team of passionate Podiatrists, interacting and collaborating with a wide range of health professionals and clinical specialties working with our service. You will receive clinical and management supervision to support you in your induction and further development. In turn, you will use your clinical and management experience and skills to supervise staff and podiatry, medical and nursing students. You will undertake a rotation into Nail Surgery, MSK, High Risk Foot, Triage and other specialised clinics. We will support agreed training, which may include the Diabetic Foot Module. There will be opportunities to participate in service development including QI projects. To undertake comprehensive yearly foot screening including assessment of neurological, vascular and biomechanical status enabling risk status to be determined using appropriate care pathway. Following assessment, refer the patient to appropriate specialist services as required. Responsible for evaluating outcomes and develop treatment appropriately. To be able to apply advanced clinical reasoning to develop and progress treatment plans.
