Fibre Process Lead Engineer Location: TISICS Farnborough, England, United Kingdom TISICS is a small, management‑owned business specialising in material and processing technology that benefits the Space and Aerospace sectors. We design and manufacture net‑shape metal and continuous silicon carbide fibre‑reinforced composite components, using titanium and aluminium alloys. Our advanced materials reduce platform weight for environmental benefit and support rapid growth in communications, climate and planetary exploration. The role of Fibre Process Lead Engineer is to provide operational leadership within our Fibre Plant, which supplies ceramic fibre for Aerospace and Space products such as structural components, pressure vessels and liquid propellant tanks. The role combines hands‑on development of plant processes with leadership of the fibre plant team. Duties And Responsibilities Process engineering leadership within the Fibre Plant, reporting to the Fibre Process Manager. Assess industrial processes, collect and analyse data. Develop practices, routines and solutions to improve productivity, throughput and quality. Design and run process simulations, perform risk‑assessment testing to eliminate time and cost constraints. Prepare process documentation and operating instructions. Oversee and assess new and existing processes and workflows. Devise, implement and test new strategies to optimise productivity. Analyse data to identify improvement areas and propose upgrades. Assess compliance with safety and quality standards and report findings and proposals to higher management. Explore ways to improve manufacturing process sustainability. Oversee operational quality control processes. Liaise with suppliers, customers and project teams. Establish a production reliability compatible with external commercial fibre sales. Lead the fibre plant team of material science experts, facility build and maintenance engineers and operators. Qualifications And Skills Qualified to degree level (BEng/BSc) in a relevant subject. More than 5 years industrial experience in process engineering, chemical engineering or a related field. Experience preferred in process simulations and standard operating procedure assessments. Proven experience working with engineering software packages such as Solidworks. Experience conducting research and laboratory testing. Understanding of inspection and testing processes gained through industrial experience. Demonstrated technical leadership. Experience of PLC control systems and their development. Understanding of chemical processes including chemical storage, flow control, pressurised systems and waste chemical management. Strong understanding of safe operating practices and associated process‑control and operating instruction development.
