Join to apply for the Digital Forensics Analyst role at HM Revenue & Customs This role is part of HMRC’s Fraud Investigation Service (FIS) and the Cybercrime & Forensic Services (C&FS). You will help support investigations that total hundreds of millions of pounds each year and work within the UK Law Enforcement community on cases ranging from corporate criminality to tobacco smuggling. Base pay range £45,544 – £49,523 plus flexibility payment Key Responsibilities Work with FIS case teams and Forensic practitioners within a forensic/eDiscovery strategy and operational framework. Take responsibility for project managing digital reviews for your remit of cases, ensuring resources are in place and deadlines are met. Engage with Legal, IT, Security, and Investigation units to support criminal and civil investigations, communicating progress and understanding a wide range of stakeholder needs. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for data preservation, processing, review, and production. Help build internal policies, workflows, and documentation to standardise eDiscovery practices in collaboration with the G7 Digital Evidence Review Lead. Act as an eDiscovery subject matter expert and senior point of contact for designated FIS cases reporting to the G7 Digital Evidence Review Lead. Experience of an enterprise‑level eDiscovery function. Deep knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), litigation support, and information governance or previous experience of delivering complex digital reviews through legal proceedings as an investigator. Base understanding of digital forensics, legal and regulatory frameworks, and data privacy laws (CPIA and GDPR). Experience of using eDiscovery tools (Relativity, Nuix, FTK, etc.). Strong teamwork, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong experience of working with large and complex data sets, examining them for evidence and bringing data into a criminal court arena. Training Depending on existing experience, you will be expected to undertake eDiscovery‑based and criminal justice skills training ranging from in‑house training to external courses.
