Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay rangeSterling Thermal Technology (STT) – a UK-based heat exchanger designer and manufacturer serving countries worldwide with high-quality, bespoke heat exchangers – is looking for an organised individual with a manufacturing background to join the team as the Sales and Business Development Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesDeveloping and executing sales and account management strategies targeted at the defence sector and any other allocated verticals.Leading all phases of the business development process: opportunity identification, vendor registration, bidding, negotiation, and closing.Working closely with the Head of Sales and Business Development to align strategic objectives, share market intelligence, and ensure a coordinated approach to client engagement and bid strategy.Building strong relationships with OEMs, defence primes, procurement teams, and government entities, positioning STT as a preferred partner.Attending industry exhibitions, conferences, and networking events to promote the company and identify new business opportunities.Creating and issuing timely and compliant bids with adherence to applicable commercial policies and leading the phases of the sales cycle from bid submission to order realisation.Understanding and managing STT’s relationships with clients’ key people.Developing, documenting, and managing the shared strategy process and implementing actions arising out of the shared strategy to customer satisfaction.Working closely with STT Project Managers and the Operations Department on project delivery status, implementing communication management to ensure a best-in-class customer experience.Identifying key strategically important customers and developing direct relationships with key influencers and decision-makers.Using the CRM and MRP systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date information on assigned customer accounts.Submitting customer pre- and post-visit reports.Skills and ExperienceProven heat exchanger experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally within the defence, engineering, or manufacturing sectors.Strong understanding of defence industry procurement processes and compliance needs.Experience in completing vendor registrations and pre-qualification documentation.Experience in delivering success in a target-driven and dynamic, project-driven environment with the ability to exceed sales targets.Confident and credible when dealing with technical queries from customers and the wider business.Technically and commercially capable of operating independently.Able to coordinate requirements for client visits and prepared to travel extensively to customers’ locations (locally and internationally).Self-starter with strong planning, follow-up, and negotiation abilities.Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across departments.Able to effectively plan and prioritise workload.Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.Life assurance.Pension.Health cash plan.On-site parking and electric charging points.Social events.Seasonal flu jabs.Hours: Full-time, permanent.Seniorit y levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionBusiness Development, Sales, and EngineeringIndustries: Staffing and Recruiting, Industrial Machinery Manufacturing, and Engineering ServicesNotes: Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Point 13 Jobs.
