Casual Governance Clerk – Enhance Academy Trust Position Overview This role is an exciting opportunity to join our governance team and work flexibly around a calendar of scheduled meetings. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to work independently, and manage their own time while meeting strict deadlines. The role will include providing in‑meeting advice to governors and providing effective administrative support under the guidance of our Central Team. Contract & Location Location: Wakefield and surrounding areas Contract: Casual – Salary: £150 per meeting Start date: ASAP Responsibilities Ensure compliance with governance legislation and the Trust’s Scheme of Delegation. Support the LAB with procedural matters and provide advice on changes to responsibilities. Coordinate the preparation, distribution, and timely review of meeting papers and minutes. Monitor actions, track progress, and ensure meetings are quorate. Onboard new governors with resources, induction, and the Code of Conduct. Advise on governor term expiries and skills mix to maintain effective governance. Build strong working relationships with the LAB, Trust Central Team, and Governance Professional.
