SEMH Teaching Assistant - Permanent Position Barnsley | Full-Time, Permanent Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We're working in partnership with a fantastic school in the Barnsley area to recruit a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant for a permanent position. About the role: As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting students with additional social and emotional needs. You'll work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support on both a 1:1 basis and within small group settings, helping pupils to engage positively in their learning and develop key life skills. Key responsibilities: Supporting students with SEMH needs in lessons and around the school. Building positive relationships to promote confidence, independence and resilience. Assisting in the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans. Collaborating with teachers, parents and support staff to ensure each child reaches their potential. We're looking for someone who: Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH or additional needs. Is patient, empathetic and resilient. Can work effectively as part of a supportive team. Holds relevant qualifications (or equivalent experience). Why work with us?
