Clinical Lead - Early Interventions in Psychosis The closing date is 10 December 2025 The Early Interventions in Psychosis (EIP) are looking to recruit a compassionate and highly skilled Clinical Lead to join the wider EIP management team. Working in collaboration with the Team Leader and members of the wider EIP workforce, the Clinical Lead will be responsible for leading, monitoring and evaluating the clinical practice of the team driving towards clinical excellence. The post holder will provide and oversee clinical supervision and support the multi‑disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high quality and safe patient‑centred care and provide senior clinical leadership within the service. The position will be based within the city locality, base to be agreed as part of the recruitment prices. Main duties of the job An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinician Nursing/ Social Work/OT/Therapist/Other, with professional registration, to join our dynamic, well established EIP leadership team. The post will further strengthen the current clinical and leadership model as the service moves towards a new place‑based model. The post holder will be expected to lead on service transformation in line with the NHS Long Term Plan and specific EIP national guidelines, co‑produce and support the evolution of EIP pathway and evidenced‑based interventions with the community mental services. You will lead the development of pathways of care across the city locality to embed and implement new ways of working. The successful candidate will evidence active clinical and managerial leadership skills within the team, providing education and supervision to junior staff members and other professionals. Job responsibilities The post holder will exercise senior clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in clinical care whilst working within the team. To participate in clinical leadership of the EIP, working alongside the Team Leader and in coordinating the team in the delivery of high‑quality multidisciplinary care. The post holder will ensure patients receive appropriate investigation, intervention and treatment with minimal avoidable delays, whilst improving the quality and experience of care. In collaboration with the team leader, monitor and lead improvements to standards of care through supervision of practice, clinical audit, evidence‑based practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues and the provision of skilled professional leadership. The post holder will hold qualification relevant to the EIP Provision (Nursing/ Social Work/OT/Therapist/Other) and will use these skills in collaboration with others to lead clinically in support of the delivery of high quality services to patients and families open to the service. To be responsible for completing specialist mental health assessments and developing treatment plans as an autonomous practitioner and to monitor interventions, ensuring compliance in accordance with Trust policy. To maintain professional standards, ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high‑quality care. Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies. Person Specification Qualifications Professional Nursing/Clinical Qualification to degree level or equivalent Maintains professional registration with appropriate professional body Further specialist knowledge/post registration experience in specific service area or other formal training Demonstrate continued professional development to maintain professional registration Psychological therapy or Psychosocial Interventions Tramlining Training Willingness to undertake new clinical practices, education and training that will enhance service delivery The ability to deal with and resolve conflict CAARMS Training BFT/ Family Interventions training Experience Demonstrates satisfactory clinical expertise for the banding Specialist and area specific experience- psychosis Advanced knowledge of medication for the older adult with mental health issues Awareness of national and local issues impacting nursing care Experience of clinical / managerial leadership within an MDT and own approach to management Previous experience of working in an EIP team Knowledge Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and understanding of clinical risk assessments Related Knowledge related to people experiencing psychosis and effective treatment Skills Ability to work as part of a team Ability to be flexible and handle conflict issues Good skills in assessment intervention and evaluation of patients nursing care Clinical supervision skills A high level of emotional intelligence Values and Behaviours All staff should be able to demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion as identified within the Trust's Equality and Diversity Policy and associated Equality, Diversity and Human Rights legislation All colleagues are expected to demonstrate that they act in line with Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Values: Trust, Honesty, Respect, Compassion, Teamwork Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
